Santa’s Secret: A Family Reunion Wrapped in Linen

Let’s be honest: our inbox at Bay Bay Linen is usually a “ladies-only” zone, filled with detailed questions about bust measurements and fabric drapes. Men rarely make an appearance here, but when they do, they tend to arrive with a mission that leaves a lasting impression.

As we chatted online to finalize the details, the heart of the story came out. He’s a traveler who has been living away from his roots for a long time – 15 years, to be exact. This wasn’t just a shopping trip; it was a grand plan to surprise the family he hadn’t seen in over a decade. He requested each gift be wrapped with care, and to help “conspire” in his surprise, we decided to tuck in personalized Christmas cards with messages tailored to each individual as our little way of saying thank you.

A week after the holidays, he sent us several photos. Seeing a whole family, four generations deep, all grinning in their Bay Bay Linen outfits, was both hilarious and incredibly touching. It’s not every day you see a 15-year reunion “uniformed” in breathable linen.

He messaged us afterward, and his words were the highlight of our season:

“I have not seen this family in many years. 15 years. And your linens made the celebration so fun, thank you 🙏🏼 The experience for me was very special.”

Knowing that our work played a small part in making a 15-year reunion a bit more “fun” and memorable is exactly why we love what we do. It’s a reminder that while we only see the fabric and the thread, these pieces eventually go out into the world to become part of people’s most cherished memories.

To our mystery Santa in the U.S. – thank you for letting us be part of your family’s chaotic, beautiful, and very breezy Christmas!

Your Moments – Our Linen

One of the most rewarding parts of running our shop is hearing how customers choose our garments for meaningful moments in their lives. Recently, we had two different buyers, from opposite sides of the world, both order pieces to wear for their son’s wedding. What a coincidence – and what an honor.

We often receive photos and kind messages after these special occasions, sharing how much they appreciate the texture, comfort, and ease of our designs. Many customers return to place additional orders and leave 5-star reviews after experiencing the quality firsthand. Moments like these remind us that what we create goes far beyond fabric and thread – it becomes part of someone’s memory.

Another customer reached out with her plans to wear our obi belt to New York Fashion Week. We’re excited to imagine it styled in such a creative, high-energy setting. The same belt that might wrap around a dress for a family celebration can also add an edge to a runway outfit – that’s the kind of versatility we love to design for.

Stories like these keep us inspired. Every order carries the possibility of becoming part of a milestone, whether it’s a wedding, a celebration, or simply a personal expression of style. And hearing from you reminds us what truly matters in our craft..

The Jacket That Couldn’t Be Made Twice

The only item made from cotton in our shop is now gone – just like that. After being listed online for a while, a customer from Australia snapped it up.

We can’t make another one. This piece started with a single length of 5 meters of hand-dyed indigo cotton from ethnic artisans in Northern Vietnam – one of a kind, impossible to repeat. The cloth was created using traditional natural dyeing methods, leaving patterns that happen only once. We simply followed what the fabric offered.

No fancy cuts, no overthinking the design. The fabric already spoke for itself, so we kept the jacket basic and easy.

It was also a bit of an experiment for us. Sometimes you work on something not knowing if it will make sense in the end. This one did. And then it left, which is kind of the point.

One piece, one story. That’s all it needed to be.

When One Dress Becomes… Well, a Habit

Remember the customer who ordered one dress, then came back for three more?
We thought that was the happy ending.

Turns out, it was just the intermission.

Two months later, she popped back in – same style, same measurements, but this time with three new colors in mind. Clearly, she’s found her uniform, and honestly, we respect that level of commitment.

Ta-da! So she now has 7 dresses for 7 days of the week.

We love making new designs, but there’s something very satisfying about knowing a single dress can quietly win someone over… enough times to fill half their wardrobe.

So here we are again, cutting and stitching that familiar shape we now know by heart – only in fresh shades. And yes, we’re still smiling about it.

From One to Many

When we first started Bay Bay Linen, orders came in slowly. One per week was normal. And that was okay – we had time to make it right, to double-check everything, and keep hoping for the next one.

Then things started to shift. A few more orders…

Then a few more…

And more…

Suddenly, our shipping days weren’t about just one neat little package – we were lining up several, trying to keep track of who ordered what, and quietly adjusting to the new rhythm.

It didn’t happen overnight, but it happened. There’s a small feeling of “Okay, maybe we’re doing something right.”

We still pack each order with care, no matter how many come in at once. Because behind every one is someone who chose to trust a small workshop like ours. So thanks for keeping us busy.

Big Order – Bigger Trust

As a small handmade linen studio, every order means the world to us. But sometimes, something extra special happens – like some customers – who had never ordered from us before – placing not just one, but multiple large custom orders, all within a few days.
They chose us. A small workshop in Hội An, Việt Nam. They picked specific colors and custom sizes. And we knew we had to give it everything we’ve got.
From sketch to stitch, every item was made with care to fit just right. And the best part? We didn’t let them down.
A few weeks later, they came back – not with another order, but with kind words. Some heartfelt reviews. It moved us deeply. Because when someone not only trusts you once, but takes the time to say thank you – it means more than we can explain.
It’s not just about linen. It’s about choosing handmade over mass-made, about believing in the slow work of small makers.
To those of you who’ve supported us from afar – with generous hearts and thoughtful requests – thank you.
You make our work meaningful. You remind us why we do what we do.
From all of us at Bay Bay Linen, we are deeply grateful.
And we’ll keep sewing with heart.

When One Dress Turns Into Four

It started with one dress. And a little bit of trust.

A few weeks ago, we packed a linen dress and sent it off to someone who had never tried our brand before. We always hold a little breath during that time – wondering how it will feel on the other side. Will it fit well? Will it bring joy?

Then… she came back. Not with a review (though we love those too), but with three more orders – the same dress, just in her favorite colors.

That moment meant so much to us.
Not just because she came back, but because she trusted us in the first piece. And then decided she wanted to live with the dress a little more.

We don’t make fast fashion. We don’t launch collections every month. But we do believe in a dress that makes you feel like yourself – simple, easy, and made to last.

So when someone finds “the one,” and returns for more, it reminds us why we do this. Every piece is a conversation. It’s never just a dress – it’s part of someone’s day, and that means everything.

Wrapped in Energy

Your clothes could be draining your enery 😩

We recently came across a video where a man talked about how different fabrics carry different kinds of energy – and it really resonated with us.

According to this idea, natural fabrics like linen actually have a very high vibrational frequency. Some people believe linen can support your energy, even help you feel more balanced or calm. In fact, studies have suggested that linen might vibrate at a frequency of around 5000 Hz, which is incredibly high compared to synthetic materials like polyester (which may vibrate as low as 15 Hz – the same frequency as a body in poor health!).

It’s a fascinating way to look at clothing – not just in terms of style or comfort, but how it might make you feel on a deeper level.

Whether or not you follow the science behind fabric frequencies, we believe in wearing clothes that feel natural, gentle on your skin, and good for the soul. That’s one of the many reasons we choose linen – a fabric that’s been loved for centuries for its breathability, beauty, and now… maybe even its energy?

More Than an Order

Some orders feel extra special – not because of what they contain, but because of what they mean.

A recent customer, a first-time buyer, placed an order as a birthday gift for his daughter. Along with a piece of clothing, he asked us to include a simple message. Nothing complicated, just a quiet gesture of love.

It meant a lot to us.

As a small team, we put care into every order — but moments like this remind us that what we do can go beyond fabric and design. Being trusted with a message from a father to his daughter, for her birthday, made us feel proud. It wasn’t just a purchase. It was part of something personal.

We’re grateful to be included in family sweet moment like this – to quietly play a role in someone’s meaningful day.
